Our mission
For over 15 years the Flying Dragons Pole Vault Club has been instructing central Illinois vaulters. The club advocates a team environment. Proper techniques and safety are taught at all levels. Athletes are able to compete in local, regional, and national Track and Field events. Beginner to advanced participants, parents, and coaches are welcome
Our Coaches
Mike Cockerham - 17 years of coaching experience including 9 years coaching the collegiate level.
Tom Coulon - 3 years of coaching experience. A former collegiate vaulter. Currently the vault coach at Tri-Vallley schools
Jason Bradford - 3 years of coaching experience
Mike Bell - 3 years of coaching experience. Currently the Bloomington Central Catholic vault coach
Ken Lovett - 25 years of gymnastics coaching at the club and collegiate level. Was a collegiate gymnast. Currently the vault coach at Clinton
Our Facility
We have a state of the art vaulting facility with two oversized pits and two raised runways each over 100 feet long. We have training equipment specifically designed for pole vault .
